The Complete Garden Guide is our most comprehensive and hands-on service, designed for individuals seeking garden coaching for every step of their gardening journey. This service encompasses multiple home visits to ensure your garden is set up correctly, from selecting the perfect location to planting and trellising. It's tailored for those who prefer a collaborative approach to gardening, offering support in decision-making, setup, plant and seed selection, and more, eliminating the guesswork and enhancing the gardening experience.

  • You want to ensure your garden is set up correctly from the start, with no guesswork involved.

What You Will Receive:

  • A custom garden plan tailored to your space and gardening goals.

  • Multiple home visits, including:

    • An initial visit to decide on the garden's location and review the setup, considering factors like sunlight and organic matter.

    • A visit to assist with the garden setup, including installing beds, mixing soil, and setting up fencing.

    • A guided trip to the garden center for help in selecting plants and seeds.

    • A visit for hands-on help with planting and trellising.

Starting with an initial phone or Zoom meeting, you'll be taught everything necessary to kickstart your garden. This service eliminates the need for you to prepare questions in advance, as I will lead the process, ensuring you receive all the essential information and guidance to begin.

  • You prefer to set up your garden space independently but want help with planting.

The Garden Consultation service is designed for gardening enthusiasts at any level of expertise. Whether you're a seasoned gardener facing specific challenges, a beginner seeking guidance on how to start, or someone eager to broaden your gardening knowledge, this service offers you the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive discussion about your gardening aspirations and hurdles. This personalized consultation allows you to "pick the brain" of an experienced gardener, gaining insights and advice tailored to your unique garden plans and questions.

This Is for You If:

  • You already have a garden but need advice on specific issues or improvements.

  • You are familiar with the basics of gardening but seek guidance on starting or expanding your garden.

  • You aim to deepen your understanding of gardening practices and principles.

  • You prefer remote consultation and do not require an in-person garden visit.

What You Will Receive:

  • A one-hour phone or Zoom consultation with an experienced gardener.

  • Garden coaching for all your gardening questions, from troubleshooting problems to starting a garden from scratch.

  • Personalized advice on garden planning and expansion.

  • Tips and strategies for enhancing your gardening skills and knowledge.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need any gardening experience in order to get started?

    Absolutely not. All of my services are geared to the beginner gardener. You don’t need to have any prior gardening experience or knowledge.

  • Do I have the right space for a backyard garden? What kind of space will I need?

    Ideally, you will need a 10’ x 6’ (60 square ft) area that gets at least 8 hours of sunlight per day during the summer months.

    We can work with smaller spaces as well! If you have 16 square feet of space (4’x4’) we can make a small garden work! (As long as it gets 8+ hours of sunlight a day.)

  • I am not sure which service is right for me

    If you love DIY and are good at following directions and executing projects without hands on support, the Garden Guide is for you. If you would like assistance every step of the way, the Complete Garden Guide is for you.

    If you are still not sure, you can always reach out to me with your questions and we will discuss what service suits you best.

  • How much time do I need to spend on my garden?

    Be ready to spend about 2 hours a week gardening. This can work out to 15 minutes a day, 30 minutes every other day, or 1 hour twice a week. Of course, you can always spend more time in and around your garden and I believe the more time and energy you invest in your garden, the better you and your garden will feel!

  • How much will starting a garden cost?

    In addition to my services, you can expect to spend about $800-$1000 for your initial garden setup. This includes garden beds, fencing, soil, tools, supplies, plants and seeds.

    This investment is only for the first year. Once this investment is made, your garden space will be ready to use for many years to come.

  • Will you be available to answer questions after my garden is set up?

    Of course! My Garden Guide service and Complete Garden Guide service offer ongoing support via text message/whatsapp throughout the growing season. You will also have the option to schedule a maintenance visit during the growing season for an additional fee, if you are looking for more hands on support.
